Finding Light

The main stars had this interesting patch of light and at first I didn’t think of it much, but decided to give it a go anyway, and then I went home and edited the photograph and this is what I came up with. I didn’t realise how strong the composition and detail really is until I was in the editing stage.
I saw this hammock with white fabric for the part you sit on, and it had such an interesting sunlight source to make an interesting highlight point. Shutter speed fast making it underexposed and turning the photograph black & white and made the black really dark to contrast and highlight the light.
At Haven, they had a yellow chair that had an interesting pattern, and there was also sunlight hitting the wooden surface. I decided to put the chair in the sunlight to cast an interesting pattern on the wood. Turned it black & white and was left with this photograph.
While I was at Haven, my goal was to just take a bunch of pictures of light. One of the black fans had sunlight hitting it, and so, decided to give it a try. I chose to use a faster shutter speed for it to be a little underexposed to give the light and shadow some contrast. With a bit of editing and turning the photograph black & white, this is the final result.

As the second project of the course, my mission was to take photos where the subject was light.
Sounds simple enough, I said. How wrong I was.

This was far harder than all the other projects for one simple reason, I am taking a photo of the very thing I rely on for a subject in any scene. But with some patience and things clicking in my head, I got these 4 photos.
