THE BEGINNING (Internet Archive)

This is my submission of the Public Domain Day Film Contest 2025 hosted by Internet Archive.

This year, films from 1929 entered the public domain. Going into it, I barely knew film history so I thought why not try to learn the history of my field in this engaging way?
I now greatly appreciate films from this time as they JUST had sound in the films, calling them Talkies. But of course, not everyone was convinced of sound in films so some of them played it safe, which is what I wanted to highlight in this film.

Researching, picking the films, and making this edit was so fun and I hope you find it as fun as it was to make it.
