CHRONOPHOBIA (fear of time)

CHRONOPHOBIA /kɹɑː.n.əf.ˈoʊbiə/
An extreme fear of time or the passage of time. People with this anxiety disorder feel intense discomfort or dread when they think about time passing them by. They may be concerned about their own mortality or worry about getting older. Some people become obsessed with watching the clock or marking days off the calendar.

as each second passes, we tick closer to the end. a fear that is common between every single one of us and how society runs its propaganda agenda to whoever they desire. a threat to existence, yet what drives it forward.

this photo series explores the different states of our mind where it feels most uneasy; time. specifically, the visualisation of those different states.

a state of the mind that creeps up on (almost) all of us. the uncertainty is what kills, no matter where that is in, wether it’s the art you work on, or how you go on with your life.

everything can be going perfectly fine but then remember why you did everything in the first place and find yourself in a position where maybe if you chose something else to work towards, you might be happier.

everyone sees the world different. my blue can be your yellow, your red can be my green.

how can one trust imagination if, sometimes, it feels as real as reality itself?

maybe looking in the mirror will help, or watching the clock as you make out the time.

where do you go next? how do you insure a stable tomorrow? what is a happy and fulfilled life?

each decision leads to a different path, but what path do you take? maybe you can get a clue from the red light… maybe follow the green… or maybe not; why let color decide?

you can argue your gut is red… yet we trust it.

hidden from sight, yet plagues our mind, our lives, and our decisions. we can see the moon in day and the sun at night, yet we still associate one for the night and the other for the day.

should we wake up when the sun rises or has the sun always been up but out of sight? only time can tell. or so we think.

you experience the end of others before your own. the disappearance of their familiarity kills you more than death itself. how could I have taken their love for granted to this degree? did I not understand that the sand falls down until there’s nothing left?

you need to quickly wipe your tears, life moves on, your sand is falling little by little as the time passes. they wouldn’t want you to waste it worrying about others.

or maybe you should sink into the sand and let it consume you until there’s no blue left. but who said we should listen to what our gut says? it is red after all.

you have one shot in life. humans like to believe we had or will have others, but you need to treat your life as your only chance and take advantage of it.

you live life that have these certain regrets, these feelings that make you feel like maybe if I just restarted from the beginning that things will be clearer, that you can understand life.

but at every rebirth, you have more questions. you experience more shades of green, even red and orange. yet you still don’t understand why color is so important.

your gut is red, your brain is pink, and your heart is blue, so why should you trust any of it? you bruise green and heal brown.

life can truly be a terrible painting of splashes of color that is a so called painting. we give each brush stroke so much meaning even thought it literally is just… a brush stroke.

your eyes are hazel, why should you trust it? we never see the same thing, we never get close to understanding the concept that one can see a glass with falling sand and the other see the clock hands going clockwise at every second.

maybe I will get my answers in another rebirth… or maybe understanding it in the first place is the wrong advice.

why is red no and yes green? why is my blood red yet a berry can bleed blue? maybe none of this means anything, maybe It’s too random to talk about colors and trying to link it to meaning through ordinary objects.

but since when has life not been random? since when has a silver point-and-shoot camera not meant much to you?

everyone has a color. mine is purple.
